YMCA Camp Cory in Penn Yan releases Summer 2026 staff highlights
YMCA Camp Cory in Penn Yan has announced its Summer 2026 staff highlights, featuring three members of the team.
Charles Solky — Sailing Specialist
Charles Solky is from Brighton, New York. He has been at camp for eight years and has served as a counselor for two of them. He is entering his freshman year of college and plans to study physics at the University of Rochester. He is a longtime Dungeon Master for Dungeons & Dragons and a prize-winning Magic: The Gathering player.
Ava McLachlan — Senior Counselor
Ava McLachlan is from Warrington, England and is 21 years old. This is her first year as a staff member at Camp Cory. She is currently studying dance at Bath Spa University. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with family and friends, going to coffee shops and concerts, and cooking. A fun fact is that she loves Stranger Things.
Sarah Valente — Junior Counselor
Sarah Valente is from New York. She has been going to camp for 13 years (since she was 4), and this is her first year officially on staff. She goes to Niskayuna High School and participates in sports like track and wrestling. Her hobbies include playing video games, trying out new foods, and reading a good book. One fun fact about her is that she tried mango for the first time this year.
