**Middle School Students Take on Teaching Roles at Second Creek Elementary**

Brighton, Colorado – Middle school students from Otho E. Stuart Middle School are stepping into classrooms at Second Creek Elementary to assist young learners as part of an educational initiative. Twice a week, members of the school's FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) program volunteer in kindergarten classrooms, taking on the role of teaching assistants.

The middle school volunteers help kindergarten students with various activities, including recognizing letters and words, practicing numbers, and organizing their learning stations. They also assist with cleaning up and answering questions during station time. This hands-on experience is part of the FCCLA students’ decision to study child development as a project this school year.

This collaboration provides the middle schoolers with a unique opportunity to learn about child development while supporting the younger students in their foundational education.
